August 1st... Today was going to be a trail ride. Which it ended up being.

We started out with our normal routine. Brushing, saddling, even the bit. And we also did the killer fly spray, which he has now accepted.
Once on the trail, about half way thru the ride, Serenity’s boyfriend Mike, and I decided that we would swap horses.
Mike has a new horse, and he wanted me to try him out to see what I thought of him. And also, I wanted to see how Encore would react to a person the size of Mike’s stature. Mike is six foot tall, and weighs 220 pounds. Encore took it in stride. It was if I had never gotten off of Encore. He was his own perfect self. He behaved for Mike the same way that he behaves for me out on the trail.
I honestly feel, whomever ends up with Encore, if they show him: love, patience, understanding, will end up with a totally awesome horse. Not only for trail riding, but with anything they want to do with him. He will do anything that is asked of him, as long as you have confidence in him and what you are asking for.
I normally do not get attached to animals that I train. But for some strange reason, I got attached to Encore the first day that I met him. And the feelings have gotten stronger with each ride. I am attached to him as much as I am to the horse that I have been riding for the past ten years. I really will miss him when he is gone!
There are times, like today, that I would rather be on Encore than my own horse. It is hard to explain. But the two of them are so much a like that it isn’t funny.
I have always been told that, if you come across one horse in your life time that you would trust with your life, you are extremely lucky.
Well, I guess I have been really blessed by God. Because Encore is now the sixth horse that has come into my life that: I would not only trust with my life, but I would also do anything in the world to make sure that no harm ever comes to him.
Whomever buys him, if any one does, please feel free to ask me about how you and him can be as one in this world. He only deserves the best.
He isn’t the easiest horse to understand! He has a brain and he uses it daily. You will never ever pull anything over on him. He is too smart. You have to be able to convice him that what ever you want him to do is because he wants to do it. HTML Comment Box is loading comments...![]()
