May 2nd... This morning I took Journey out of her paddock and tied her to the hitching post. She is absolutely terrified of the steers who are very near by. I guess we will have to work on that! She tied well until the steers got closer then she freaked, pulled back, etc. but didn't get free and eventually settled down and gave up. Some hand walking and grazing was a nice treat for her once she was quiet. The hustle and bustle of trucks driving around the yard and the dogs don't seem to bother her.

The evening brought training session number two. Today I booted her. All four legs. It was not the prettiest ordeal, but she never once kicked at me. Lots of dancing around and impatience, but no intent on harming me.

We worked on desensitizing again today, disengaging her hindquarters, and lateral flexion. She has a "scratch my butt" fetish, so teaching her to move her hind end away is that much more important.

Journey caught on fairly well to everything and continues to do well with the desensitizing.

Taking the boots off was simple. As soon as Journey realized it felt better she stood stock still. While hanging out under Journey, I noticed she has a white spot on her belly.
