May 28th... I'm going to be reading the rules of adoption/bidding. Really falling in love with this mare.

Journey picked her head up out of the grass and waited patiently for me to catch her. Tied great, let me pick out her feet no problem, getting better with the fly spray. Stood perfect to be saddled and bridled.

I walked her away from the hitching post and climbed on. Flexed her both ways as always, then walked her over to the water puddle I created earlier in the day.

Journey oogled and oggled at it for a minute or so, after all she's a desert horse, not a sea horse! We walked circles around it, just like with the bridge.

Soon, Journey was sniffing the water. Less than 4 minutes into our ride she was walking calmly through the puddle.

I also filled a rut with water. It's about 8 feet long, and 18 inches wide. Again, I asked her to walk circles around this. Within a minute or two she was crossing it, sometimes jumping, sometimes stepping over. I just kept circling her around and directing her over it until she walked over it and even stepped in the rut a few times.

Encore was being worked too, so we stood around the yard for awhile for Encore to be saddled and then go through the water obstacles. She was very patient for so long. After awhile she got antsy so we walked and trotted around the yard. We rode by all sorts of scary lumber piles and foreign stuff that Journey hasn't seen before. Couldn't be happier with her responses. Nice loose rein, calm and relaxed. She just looked at everything.

In the arena it was a typical day. W/t/c, back. We did all the obstacles again. She struggled with the "L" pattern today but we did get it a few times. She pivots very well on her forehand.

We cantered several circles and trotted some more. I had no issues guiding her around the arena, at a trot or canter.

While Encore was being ridden, we worked on vertical flexion. I love an Arabian's head and neck and think getting them on the vertical is beautiful. So first we worked on vertical flexion at a stand still and eventually progressed to a walk. I just held, waited, and as soon as she responded I released. Eventually I held until she gave me two steps with her headset, and then released.
