June 3rd... I fall more in love with this mare every day. This is day three working on vertical flexion. Journey is starting to hold it for a few strides, otherwise will bob her head if I hold her longer.
She is extremely soft. I am not pulling her head in. I'm merely taking the slack out and making light contact. She is that soft. She gives nicely at the w/t, stand still and back up. We just need to work on giving to the bit at the canter.
Journey backs up quietly, stops nice but could still use improvement. Moves out well. Doesn't hesitate to trot or canter when I ask her to. Her circles are good, she guides excellent.
I love a horse that sidepasses so we worked on that at the end of our ride. In 10 minutes I had her sidepassing two steps consistantly in each direction. I'm anxious to see how she does tomorrow.
